Auto plaza limited which is the authorized partner of Hyundai Vehicles, has launched its 2019 all new Hyundai Santa Fe in Accra.
The car comes in two new editions which are Deluxe edition which is selling at US$49,000 and the Limited edition which is selling at US$45,000.
According to the company, Ghana is one of the first countries on the continent to have the car launched.
The cars which are 7 seater 4x4s also have some key features such as Heads up display, Blind spot collision warning system, temperature controlled back seating air conditioner , wireless phone charging, bluetooth hands free system with voice recognition, dynamic mode drive select, electronic parking brakes, smart key push button engine for start and stop amongst others.
Speaking to Citi Business News at the sidelines of the launch, Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai, Jihad Hijazi said the company may in the future set up a plant in Ghana to expand its operations, if government continues on the economic fundamentals it is embarking on.
“The environment might not immediately be conducive but it is turning around slowly and as it gets more conducive, it will definitely be an option for us to set up a plant and produce here in Ghana”, he stated.
He added, As you know putting up a plant will only be viable when the demand for our cars is very high and the economic indicators become more positive as we have started to see”.
Mr Hijazi also stated that the company is hopeful of making more sales with the latest cars since their engine capacity is 2.4 liters making them exempt from the tax on luxury vehicles which affects cars with engine capacity above 3 litres.
“The advantage with these cars is that we do not fall within the bracket of cars that will be taxed as luxury vehicles because our engine capacity is 2.4 but it has so many great accessories that make it a luxury car”.
The All New Hyundai Santa Fe is currently available only at Auto Plaza Limited.
